The Great PhinneyWood Feast

  • Phinney Neighborhood Association (map)

For the past nine years, our neighborhood has had the tradition of “Pig Out to Root Out Hunger” an event that served as a fundraiser for the PNA’s Hot Meal Program which serves more than 20,000 free meals a year to those in need.

With many of our local restaurants, bars, and cafes struggling to pivot to the new reality, we are going to focus this year’s event on supporting them. This year, we are calling for a week of action and support for our business district’s eateries and are calling the event The Great PhinneyWood Feast.

Pig Out typically raises almost $10,000 needed dollars for the Hot Meal Program through generous contributions from our restaurants, but this year we are rising up to support our eateries in their time of need, and no contribution from them is required. Gravity Payments is generously sponsoring the event this year, with their contribution enabling us to provide approximately 375 meals or 40 outdoor blankets for our neighbors in need.

We are asking you, the community, to help us shore up the rest of the shortfall this year for the Hot Meal Program with a donation and to show your overwhelming support for our neighborhood cafes, restaurants and pubs!

So hang up the apron, enjoy your clean kitchen, and have a socially-distant dine-in dinner or a convenient to-go meal the week of October 19 – October 25. Partake in all the diverse and unique bounty our neighborhood has to offer–from someplace new or from your favorite nearby eatery. And please consider supporting our neighbors in need this week as well.
