SCOOPER / BARISTA

Starting pay: $17.25

Average tips: $5-$10 per hour during winter/spring season, $20-$30 per hour during the summer/fall.

Store hours: 12pm-9pm

Shifts: 12PM-5PM ~ 3PM-8PM ~ 5PM-9PM - Shifts, store hours and scheduling will vary.

Responsibilities:

  • Being a gelato/sorbetto geek who can make tasteful recommendations and answer questions

  • Keeping the store tidy, everything well stocked, washing dishes, abiding by the cleaning regiment, and monitoring product quality/consistency

  • Greeting guests, offering samples, making suggestions, recommending add-ons, preparing their gelato/coffee order, charging accurate amounts and making correct change

  • Coachable and adaptable attitude, flexibility during policy/procedure changes

  • Having a positive attitude towards coworkers, guests and the community

  • Providing an excellent guest experience from the moment they enter, until they leave smiling

  • Managing lines, and large groups with ease and a positive attitude

  • Skilled and knowledgeable preparation of espresso beverages, gelato shakes, teas, affogatos, sundaes and pastries (we’ll teach you!)

  • Being respectful towards everyone regardless of age, sex, gender, ethnicity, religious/political affiliation, background, race, etc.

  • Maintaining inventory reports and keeping open communication with coworkers and Stores Manager regarding product shortages, any equipment issues, questions, etc. at all times

  • Attending scheduled shifts and meetings consistently and reliably.

  • Being able to make decisions on the spot, take initiative, and ask for help when needed regarding store operations, guest issue resolution, and safety

  • Operation of cash register, accurate money counting and documentation

  • Come to work with excellent hygiene, clean clothes and close toed shoes.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old at time of hire

  • Motivated to learn and exceed expectations

  • A team player mentality

  • Sound decision making and critical thinking

  • Available to work a minimum of 4 days per week

  • Able to stand for long periods of time, bend, squat, and lift up to 20lbs

  • King County Food Handler’s Permit
